Round 1 - Kaylynn Spitzig

My first week in my new home. I did not sleep well the first night. I had expected a quiet life and absolute silence at night, but there was music from my neighbors all night long. So I decided to introduce myself and get to know them better. Maybe later I will try to ask them very politely if they could please be a bit more quiet.

In the house at the left lives a man who is retired. His name is Christian Love. He was born on this island, but lived most of his life on the mainland. He came back now that he does not have to work anymore. He is not very friendly, I must say.

The neighbor on the other side is really strange. She says she works at night. But she did not tell me what she does for a living.

Her name is Callista Fuchs.

I started planting some tomatoes. Will they grow before the snow comes?

First they grew well, but later I had bugs and insects. Then I found that this lady, who lives at the other side of the street, is watering them when I am away. She gives them too much water, that is the problem.
And what is she doing in my garden anyway? It seems she is the owner of this entire block of houses and she is always around, minding people's business.

So what should I do? I don't want to be an outsider here, if this is the way people live together here, I will have to get used to that.

I invited my friend Arnoud for dinner.

He complained that there are no shops at all in the neighborhood. He has to go to the mainland for his groceries. First by bike to the ferry and then over an hour to get to the first shop.
In spite of this, he is not starving, he even has grown a bit fat. I did not say that of course. :)
I told him that I have plans to start a small shop on the island, just for some groceries and clothes. I don't expect to have many customers, but it will give me something to do and I still have my savings to live from.

So... the next day I found this old little shed, and I worked hard to make it look a bit like a 'shop', without spending too much money on it.

I did not expect this, but I was very busy from then. There came a lady from a local newspaper and she wrote an article about me and my shop. It seems that more people were waiting for this. And now they know where to find me. Soon I will expand my shop. 

Arnoud complained that he is lonely on this island, but I think that is his own attitude, he is a bit shy. I have had many friends from Denmark, who came over for a weekend. And one of them even stayed. Her name is Danielle Lillard. She is recently divorced and she wanted to start a new life. I was happy I could help her.
